“This is an area that I've walked in frequently, first to Geo cache then to help a lady friend with dogs. It's been a safe place to hike along a beautiful waterway flowing along at at a quick but peaceful pace. The woods are old and it's hard to find a very solid stick for a dog to chase but it's such a lovely walk with views of the river and paddlers stroking up and down river. Along the banks are tree swings to leap into the river. There's a big cluster of old rhododendron that is surreal when in blossom. This is a truly marvelous place to stroll through.”

“The Bells were a bit hard to fine as the trail is not marked - fortunately there was a Troop 1 Eagle Scout project from a year or so ago that set up geotags on many of the Groton trails. A quick trip, tons of Great Blue Herons fighting along the way (very dinosaur-like), a nice little trip.”
