Assabet River Nature Trail

Address: 124-126 Chapin Rd, Hudson, MA 01749, USA

Park

“Gorgeous walk this morning along the river. Goggle maps got me there fine. The only thing I would caution is parking. There are 2 stone pillars along the road. The entrance between them is narrow. I didn't know if I could make it through. There is enough parking for 4 - 5 cars max. There was only one there today. The trail takes off right from there. I only walked a half mile maybe less till I got to a big open field. I took my dogs off leash and let them run. Then headed back to car. Not sure if trail continued or not. The field hat a Pavillion with picnic tables under it. And it was attached to other fields which are ball fields for a school there. It was a lovely fall walk.”

“A nice place to walk your dog. I saw families with small children. It's close to downtown and the Assabet river runs through it. I saw a heron at the waters edge, and on another day a bufflehead duck. Park was founded in 1918.”

Rail Trail Access Path

Address: Hudson, MA 01749, USA

Park

“Great trail for biking after work. I suggest parking on Washington Street in Hudson which is Route 85 by McDonald's and riding up to the trail end at Lincoln Street in Marlborough. It's uphill much of the way but not horribly so. You pass under the Route 85 connector with some cool murals in it and Assabet Regional Highs athletic fields among other sights. A highlight is the Fort Meadow reservoir lookout with bike repair station on the way. Turn around at Lincoln Street and it's downhill back to Hudson mostly. Keep riding east east toward trails end on Rte 62 in East Hudson and it's a little more than a ten mile paved loop. Four street crossings in Hudson on busy streets but there are lights and crosswalks. It's a great urban and country ride.”

Assabet River Rail Trail - East Hudson Trailhead

Address: Hudson, MA 01749, USA

Park

“Love this bike path! There are many different parking lots along route so you can ride different sections easily. The lower part from trailhead to downtown is flat and easy, from Hudson main street to Marlborough is pretty much uphill all the way but makes for a nice ride back!”
