The parking lot was packed - a good sign - the lines were full and everyone was happy! Delicious ice cream, generous portions and a thoroughly pleasant experience all around.
My wife's been coming here her whole life, but I grew up in a Kimball's household, and was only recently introduced to Erikson's. It doesn't have all the commercialization and side activities that Kimball's has added over the past 20 years or so--there's no mini golf, driving range, bumper boats, petting zoo, or gift shop here--but that's probably a good thing. This no-frills ice cream stand (they just started taking credit cards this season) is a local favorite, but small enough that even on a busy night, you're not waiting in line forever. And the reward is always worth the wait, as their ice cream is excellent, and they usually have 30 or so flavors to chose from, including your typical staples and some more unique offerings like Graham Central Station, which is my wife's favorite. Definitely worth a post-dinner stop with the family, or if you happen to find yourself in the area on a warm summer evening.
Best ice cream I've ever had, and now they take credit cards! There's literally no reason not to go every day.
If you get a chance, their limited run dark and stormy ice cream makes a great float in the ginger ale. I love going here so much.
Much better than other local places. They make their own here and its very fresh. Also big plus this year I found out they take cards, no longer cash only operation!!
My favorite ice cream place EVER. Science Maynard is so small, its within a seasonal biking or walking distance from anywhere in the town, and its still not too far from some other places. Though the lines are long, they also go pretty fast. I don't even care that they only take cash, it doesn't matter (just ignore the fact that I only have cash). Also, is anyone going to mention their sizes? Their medium is just a bit over $5 including tax, and its as big as my fist! Not to mention how much ice cream they manage to shove in the cones. They have so many flavors, anyone, even the pickyest eaters, will find a flavor to love. My personal favorite is green monster, its amazing and I regiment it to my fellow chocolate lovers. Why does anyone even have to give it a review? Its too awesome not to go! So set aside an hour, bike down there, and get yourself some ice cream!
