Blue Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center

Wonderful, caring staff. They are taking great care of my husband with dementia. My husband has been here over a year now and I am still very impressed by the staff! The Administrator, Michael, is outstanding as well as the Nursing Staff, the Aids, the Social Worker, the Physical and Occupational Therapy teams and all of the other people that it takes to run a Dementia Certified facility. The food is very good too! My husband is very happy here. He is a Vietnam Veteran with a Silver Star and Purple Heart.

I am the Licensed Nursing Home Administrator at Blue Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center, a Certified Dementia Care Center and in my year plus tenure, We have built a Team of Caring, Competent and Loving Professionals who not only look at their positions as jobs but as a calling. We all feel privileged to serve our Residents and their families and welcome questions about our offering of Skilled Nursing Services as it relates to Alzheimer Dementia.

Upon entering this facility I was so impressed, the residents appeared calm and happy and even though the building itself is old it is clean. As a Nurse who has seen many long term care facilities I felt confidant in my decision in placing my husband here. The care and compassion the staff give the residents is awesome. I live in Florida and the staff keeps me involved and when I see my husband calm and happy that is all that matters.

I had my sister admitted to Kindred Nursing and Rehabilitation-Blue Hills in August 2011 in poor health and state of mind as a result of a heart attack that occurred on an operating table having surgery for diverticulitus. I am delighted to say her health and state of mind has improved significantly although early symptoms of dementia has dictated that she remain at Kindred. I have Durable Power of Attorney and I am her Health Care Proxy.

The facility is clean and sanitary with much attention paid to the ambiance inside and outside the facility. The Medical Director and staff are courteous, professional, helpful and good communicators. My sister loves the food and says the quantity is great. She is happy with the activities that are made available for her and the rest of the patients. I am kept aware of all issues and problems and assist with health care decisions.

We moved from Private Pay to MassHealth, after depleting her current assets for her care, with the help of the staff and an Elder Care Attorney rather seamlessly and I'm pleased with the results of that effort.

I have a vested interest in my sisters care as we are the last of the Frost clan and I live 250 miles away in New York and can say that I am well pleased with the services and treatment she receives from Kindred Nursing and Rehabilitation-Blue Hills facility. I'm convinced that I made the right decision to have her admitted to Kindred Nursing and Rehabilitation-Blue Hills in 2011.
