It is beautiful, yet sad walking through the cemetery. There is lots of shade and the paths are well kept up. The roads are paved and they are usually plowed in the winter. The graves are kept up and there are water spigots throughout the graveyard to help with watering flowers.
Lots of monuments to see at this private cemetery. People like to walk their dogs here and visit the weeping angel. The top of the cemetery gives you a good view of downtown hingham. Check out the Benjamin Lincoln grave.
Well taken care of cemetery in a beautiful location. My wife and I have ancestors buried there with headstones just a few feet apart. Our ancestors were founding families of Hingham and would have known each other. The fact that we're from out west makes this find truly remarkable.
i live right down the street from here, and it is a fascinating place. it has a still working water pump from back in the early 1600's, it has a haunting feel like all good cemeteries, and it also is a beautiful resting place for the past people of Hingham!
