“The Lakeside Inn is a fantastic, historic get-away from the city. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful. Rooms are great, and the lobby is cozy and festive around the holidays. Their off-season room special (2 nights for the price of 1) is the perfect affordable excuse to curl up by the fire for a winter weekend. It's close to many great food spots and antique shops, as well as steps away from serene Lake Michigan. Easy to book and lovely to stay.”

“Great place to stop while road tripping from Nebraska to Toronto. Our room was clean and comfy. We had a great breakfast selection. Both the late night and early morning staff were very welcoming. We booked online direct through the hotel a couple of hours out while on the road and found a better deal than posted other places.”

“I love staying at this hotel! The front desk is decorated beautifully for Christmas and the staff is so respectful. I love the diversity at breakfast and how well they keep up with the food, no wait times. The beds are very comfortable and rooms are cleaned very well. Also, if you check in while Patricia is working front desk- she's a sweetheart! Would recommend this hotel 5/5 stars.”

“This is a newly remodeled Hotel is tucked back behind some vacant businesses. Don't let that fool you. When we stayed there with our dogs it was virtually vacant in the middle of summer. So if you want a hotel in great shape with a great staff and few other guests to interrupt your night's sleep I highly recommend this place. We will be staying there on our way back through.”

“This is an ideal, quiet recluse to which I enjoy retiring when escaping the pace of the big city. Here I write, read, sleep, and eat in an environment that fosters creativity. I leave feeling rested and accomplished. Its proximity to Chicago means that I can get away on relatively short notice for a long weekend. The owners take pride in their inn. The staff are attentive, friendly, and helpful. This is a charming inn, and especially so at Christmastime!”

“Overall it was a great place to stay. We did have exceptionally small bathrooms and the beds were tiny. All cabins but ours had fans which made it stuffy if you shut the doors to sleep. The short walk to the beach was incredible. This was a great place for a family vacation. We had a great time!”

“Our family literally counts down the days until our annual week vacation at The Place To Be! The location absolutely cannot be beat. The beach access is super convenient and an easy walk to catch the dynamite sunsets. You are steps away from delicious bakery and restaurant options and directly off the main road to take you to a multitude of additional locations - Farmer's Market, breweries, blueberry picking, fun towns, etc. You feel as though you're in the heart of Harbor Country! The house itself is exactly what you need for a relaxing vacation...perfectly comfortable and great space. The backyard is wonderful for s'mores, sports and soaking up the sunshine. Writing this makes me want to go back...incredibly pleased with our experiences over the last three years!”

“Been coming here with family for 21 years. It's great. The cottages are quaint and cozy. There is a tennis court, volleyball court, game room with pool and ping pong. It's right on lake Michigan and the views are amazing. There's lots of good food and local produce and wine to be found within a short bike ride.”
