“One of the finest hotels of the time, the Grand Pacific House, was constructed in 1881 for New Baltimore's Frederick C. Losh. It is the last remaining hotel of the era. The limestone for it's deep foundation was shipped to New Baltimore from Kelly's island in Lake Erie, near Sandusky, Ohio. Local bricklayers constructed the two-story building on Washington Street. The "modern" hotel featured a lobby, dining room, and Saloon on the first floor, with eight bedrooms on the second floor. Around 1910, when business began to decline, the Grand Pacific House became a boarding house and later, a private residence. During the 1920's the saloon was transformed into a soda fountain and candy store. In 1927, it was converted into a hardware store by Ed Maliskey, who ran the store until his passing in 1972. The New Baltimore Historical Society purchased the building in 1986 thanks to many fundraising efforts and generous donations. Ten years later, the Grand Pacific House received it's Michigan State Historic marker. The restoration process continues as the Grand Pacific House lives on.”

“I love taking my son to Red’s. There is something about going to a real barber. We’ve never had a problem getting a cut, the wait isn’t very long, and it’s located right in the downtown area.”

“The staff at this really helped me when I was in a urgent, distressed and panicked situation. I am Canadian and needed to arrange PCR tests to get home to my family after an essential trip into MI. The Pharmacy Manager worked with me patiently, efficiently and creatively to make sure everything worked out, and I will be eternally grateful. I wish there were more people like her in this world!! Thanks so much, New Baltimore Walgreens!!”

“This was a nice stop for lunch. Our server, Ian, was very nice. The French Onion soup was good, but a bit salty. The Navy Bean soup was very good. The Cajun Po' Boy was a nice sandwich - the roll was toasted nicely, the Andoiulle sausage had a touch of spice, and the breading on the shrimp was very crunchy, and the sauce had a nice spice. If you can get one of the front window tables, you have a decent view of the water and a nice view of the main drag.”

“Oh, wow! What a local gem! This is an unassuming shop front that has a nice patio area out back. They have a full service bar that makes specialty cocktails and smoothies. And the food... oh, the food! The menu is small and lobster focused, but what they do they do oh so well. The lobster flat bread is very tasty and the lobster roll is to die for! Large pieces of tender, sweet lobster are served in a super soft roll. An absolute must try!!!”

“I love this little winery! They make all there own wine and have flavors to please all wine lovers and even those (like me) who aren't normally fans of wine. There are always seasonal flavors and only the best ingredients. Nothing to cause a headache the next day. You can find everything wine related as well. I have purchased many gifts from this shop. There are so many unique, fun, sassy pieces to choose from. The owners are super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. This is a perfect place to shop locally! If you're visiting the area, you'll definitely want to stop in for a taste, a bottle (or many), a laugh (or many), a unique souvenir, or even a to-go cup for your walk around beautiful downtown New Baltimore on the shores of Anchor Bay in Lake St. Clair.”

“Fantastic..! I've lived in the local area for two years now and spend a lot of time along the waterside, state's tallest Flag Pole. Whenever I'm around, I usually stop-in to Celtic Sisters to look around as every time I'm there, my head is on a pivot looking left & right at all the eclectic and neat stuff I may have missed the first 60 times I was there..!!! Awesome store and the gals are great. Colleen is currently helping me to have a custom made item from one of her suppliers. Love it, Love it, Love it. Thank you ladies :o)”

“I would give this restaurant 6 stars but only 5 are listed. I went there for the first time with 4 other friends. I cannot say enough positive things about this establishment. The owner Cathy is so personable and Megan is such a little sweetie. They made our visit exceptional. The food was unbelievable. Everything is organic, gluten free and delicious... I had a cup of red pepper and potato soup, cold quinoa black been salad with avocado, and a wonderful sandwich with homemade bread. I cannot wait to go back. I am so glad I don't live too close because I would be living there. This restaurant is success.... Bravo to you..... Please come and visit you will be amazed. God Bless”

“It's a very good place but it only gets 4 stars because if it had 24 hour access to ones storage unit it would easily deserve 5 stars so the only inconvenience is that it needs to be like bakersfield and have pin entery after hours”
