Stopped in for breakfast before my appointment @ Amazon. Never had faster service in my life, and Helga was everything you could want in a waitress. She was at my table with refills for my coffee before I even realized I needed more. Food was delightful, homemade hash browns had the most wonderful flavor. I plan to eat here often!
Looks are deceiving. Despite the busted up asphalt, faded paint, and stained ceiling tiles, this place brings the food and service. Function over form diner food at peak performance. Is it the best food you'll ever taste? Nope. Is the coffe and food going to be hot af and served to you buy a genuinely nice waitress who wil actually banter with you like a human being instead of an underpaid dead inside applebees employee that only regurgitates the same empty platitudes while forcing a smile while contemplating their life choices that led them to this point? Yes. Oh and the gravy is amazing so get something that comes with it or just get a side of it in a bowl and drink it.
Standard-issue lunch spot for working folks, both blue and white collar. You will not rave about this food, but it is good, it is satisfying, it is friendly, and you will be back because you like it and will right in. I don't know if there actually is someone named Albert here, but if he exists then he has lots of fans and a cool-looking K car.
I order a fried egg sandwich here for carry out once in a while and it's always good. Never had a bad one yet.
Last Saturday I decided to eat in for once and deviating from my usual sandwich. Instead ordered a full breakfast (eggs, sausage, hash browns, toast) everything was delicious.
My eggs were not over or undercooked, and the hash browns were made with real potatoes! (so many chain Coney islands use that frozen bag stuff. Yuck!) The amount of freshly made food you get at a real family-owned coney island for such a reasonable price should make chain restaurants and fast food places embarrassed.
Alberts is a great example of what restaurants should be. The staff is hard-working and friendly and the place is kept clean. Don't sacrifice quality for convenience. If you live/work in the area take the time to dine in or carry out here. It may look shabby on the outside but I think we all know by now, the more run down a place looks the better the food is sure to be.
Opposite the hotel I stayed at various times between Nov 2019 and Jan 2020. I usually had the spaghetti, or the corn beef hash, or whatever the special was. Really, really good. You don't get corn beef hash like this in the UK unless you make it yourself. And I had chips with chili, that was "tidy" (as we say in Wales). Also, this is a picture of the plate of spaghetti I had. A real gut-buster.
