Private Piano Lessons by Tatyana

Our daughter has been taking lessons with Tatyana for about 4 years and we are amazed at what a great pianist she has grown into. Tatyana really expects a lot of her students and she drives them for results. She has been a great teacher and we are thankful to her for bringing music into our home and so much joy to our daughter.

My daughter has taken lessons with Mrs. Tatyana for 10 years, since she was 5. We were very happy with such a wonderful teacher, who is not only a highly professional musician but also a kind and pleasant person. As a teacher, Mrs. Tatyana fully dedicates her time to students, she will go far beyond their needs to make sure that each student gets enough knowledge to progress. Her passion of music is so contagious that everyone sooner or later falls in love with several classical composers. I would recommend her to anyone who is thinking to take piano lessons! She is such an inspiration and dedicated individual!

Being an aspiring guitarist, music has always been part of my life, but I have always felt like something was missing since I mainly focused on playing guitar tabs from existing songs. I wanted to take my playing to the next level and I realized that all the greatest guitar players were actually classically trained on piano, which carved the path for their success in their future musical compositions. I started training with Tatyana and explained my goals to her. She was very receptive and developed a lesson plan focused around my needs. After only a few weeks, I was playing scales and progressions that I would have never thought went together. My music started to tell a story as I could now flow from one progression to the next. Tatyana has a deep understanding of musical theory and composition that is unmatched. I have learned that piano is essentially the backbone to all music directions and all musicians should know how to play! I am so glad I started piano lessons with her and I highly recommend her for any skill level!

One year I made it my New Year’s resolution to learn Piano. Being a college student who does nothing but study and go to work, I felt like I needed some substance. I originally took lessons with someone else, but she lacked the passion and felt that I was paying too much for private lessons based on how slow my progression was. I decided to switch last year to Tatyana Richmond and feel much more comfortable with her compared to my instructor last time. She really knows how to teach and you can see the passion she has for wanting her students to do their best. And even though it is difficult to practice considering I don’t have my own piano, I find that my level of playing is progressing so much faster than how I was taught in my previous lessons.
