Love this trail. Every other week I’m here walking and hiking. Great little preserve
A small trailhead with a rock parking lot, port-a-potty, old picnic table. Nicely mowed path back to the woods where the trail takes you through the woods and around an open prairie on the other side. Great for a hot days run, watch the roots and deadfall limbs.
Super fun! We slid around on the ice. Beautiful place for a photo shoot.
Been coming to this trail for a few years. The walk is beautiful, especially during the fall season. I would say, recently theres been an increase in coyote sightings at this location. Understand the remote nature of this trail.
Definitely worth the walk nonetheless Very scenic as it winds from cornfields, to woods and out into an open grassland.
Not far from Platt & Ellsworth, this natural preservation area has a nice paved parking lot. Take a picture of the map at the entrance- to help navigate. After walking thru a wide mowed pathway between 2 corn fields, you enter a mixed hardwood forest, good canopy with a woodsy temp and deep silence. Past the woods are a series of loops, mowed paths through a restored prairie area, wonderful native plants, big sky and evidence of various animal pathways to small perhaps vernal ponds?? Very nice walking, no people, but some evidence of vandals (broken and missing map signage). Woods border the prairie, there are multiple exits thru woods, so look for the telltale stepping stone tree stumps that take you back to the main lot of Thomas Rd. Thank you Ann Arbor and NAP. We'll be back!
