Mickey's Dairy Twist

LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! This place, just discovered it this year (WHERE HAS IT BEEN ALL MY LIFE!!)! This is just the type of local place I love to support.

You pay at an outdoor counter area and they have outdoor seating its so PERFECT when you picture an ice cream shop in your head, I can certainly see them as a staple to the community!

My son and I stopped by a and we both enjoyed it a lot, I had the home made German chocolate ice-cream and wow I'm hooked! It was delicious, really!

I can't wait to go back!

Advice: Ice cream melts FAST (yes captain obvious LOL) be ready to eat fast if its a very hot day or be prepared to run to the car, have preparations so you don't spill it all over when you have the AC running, not a horrible idea to bring a big plate or something to save yourself a mess. Also bring baby wipes (lesson learned) if you have them they make the sticky mess go away so you don't have to touch the steering wheel with ice cream hands LOL.

Pricing: Think its fair, I don't know what good ice cream pricing is, so can't tell if its just slightly over priced (if it is then its only ever so slightly overpriced) or it could be on point. I didn't try the other items like their hot foods so can't comment on those from what I saw in the window looked good, a bit over priced for the location for those types of items I think (again I could be wrong on that) so take it with a grain of salt, my pricing on this location is not perfect, probably because I like it SO much so can't be perfectly objective.

Additional Pros:
- Great ice cream selection for kids.
- My kiddo had the dumpster (comes in a dumpster can like on Sesame Street I think) the first time we came and had a blast with it.

Final Thoughts: AWESOME Place will certainly be back and recommend them. I REALLY want to try so many of their home made ice creams, if it is anything like the German Chocolate they won't disappoint!

I don't give out 5 stars or my comments lightly this place disserved it, keep up the great ice cream and the friendly service! (Remember great service goes a long way and makes the food taste infinitely better, people often eat with their hearts :-)

Stopped in and wasn't disappointed! I had the Strawberry Pineapple Dole Whip and the hubby had the Maui Delight... both were excellent! And we split a large lemonade. So fresh and slightly tart in just the perfect amount. All served by an awesome staff member!!
We will definitely be back.

Mickey's is about as close to an old time drive-in as I found in SE Michigan. All food is freshly cooked when you order it rather than sitting around under a heat lamp. They have both soft serve and hand packed ice cream. Make sure you try their onion rings (favorite!) as well as their hamburgers and chili dogs. We've eaten there half a dozen times this summer and each time we were served 1st rate drive-in fare. If you like talking to the person who prepares your food and like 1st rate service be sure to plan a trip to Mickey's.

What a fabulous establishment! So many cold and delicious options. So very kid friendly, with ice cream covered in sprinkles with little eyes on the side. They even provided a "bowl" to my daughter who was hell-bent on a cone for when ice cream started to melt off! (It was nearly 90° F today)
Thanks to their friendly staff, quick service, outdoor and indoor seating options. The family and I are excited to come back and visit for ice cream again in the future.

Your basic locally-owned-and-operated, high-quality, low-price ice cream place. Nothing fancy, and better for it. Good quality hard ice cream, much of it made in-house. A wide variety of sundaes and flurries. Some surprisingly good hot food, too. Not the prettiest and doesn't have a lot of amenities, but excellent value for your money. Just walk up, order, and eat. Simple, but well-executed.
