“It’s Veterans Day and this was my first visit here. Small in size but there is so many interesting things to see here. Jets, helicopters and cool military items. You could spend as little as a half hour here or a couple hours if you took your time. Very friendly staff. Met two Roses the Riveters!”

“The Westland Historical Village is an attraction that is both very useful and important. There are picnic facilities here and a nearby path. It is enjoyable to visit as a pass time. It is a wonderful backdrop to any outdoor party. Some of the buildings are available to hire for weddings and other events. The barn and two of the buildings are undergoing continuing renovations. The house referred to as the ‘Octagon House’ is a beautiful specimen of Americana. It brings back memories of small town American life which was actually big time. These were the homes of the people who owned and worked the land. They were homesteads and functional as well as being ‘home’ to the hard working families that lived in them and used them. The clapboard houses and wooden frames stand as testimony to the strong work ethic of the people who lived in them as well as the time honored and proven methods of construction. They are warm in the winter and cool in the summer. It would be great to see modern architects, builders and craftsmen and women revisit these designs and materials to allow us to take advantage of these energy saving, attractive and useful structures in today’s developments. Inside the buildings are period pieces and inventions of the past. My favorite is the Eureka vacuum cleaner which sits quietly on of the porches. Eureka had its headquarters near here and was a leading manufacturer and inventor during its heyday. Along with the buildings is convenient parking and easy access from Wayne Road. It is well situated. The picnic tables and open space invite children, and everyone, to play and take their ease with hot dogs and towering glasses of lemonade in the summer months. During the cool of the year the houses and barns are back dropped by colorful leaf blankets from the nearby woods. The winter brings hot cocoa and marshmallows and the quiet and cold of a winter spent celebrating Christmas and all holidays during the turn of the year.”

“The museum is a very charming old schoolhouse, though perhaps a tad small. The exhibits over the past few years have been fantastic — the Historical Society puts a lot of thought and effort into them. And the guidance you receive upon entering is enthusiastic and informative.”

“Beautiful, well maintained surprise in Plymouth. It's big enough to cover many areas of interest but small enough to take in everything in an hour or two. The locomotive is such a wonderful addition. The changing focus ( the 70's were featured when we went) keeps the museum always intriguing. Please do you & your family a huge favor and visit this incredible gem on Main Street in Plymouth.”

“This experience was amazing. Let me say, when we first walked in, I was prepared to be underwhelmed. The displays around the entry were fine, but nothing to get super excited about. That changed pretty quickly once we met our tour guide, Tom. This man had an encyclopedic knowledge of Ford Motor Company, Henry Ford, and the Piquette Avenue building as well. In addition to his knowledge, Tom was funny and engaging throughout the 1.5 hour tour. My only complaint would be that the tour wasn't 2.5 or 3 hours long. Tom's enthusiasm for the people, cars, and plant was genuinely infectious and I could've spent the whole day looking at cars (and I'm not really a "car guy.") Would definitely recommend this experience to anyone.”

“Their revamped Halloween Nights experience is truly worth the price of going. From the stand point of going by myself for photography, the village part was okay (families and couples would enjoy it better). But their new haunted train ride called Halloween Express? So good that it rivals the best haunted houses in Metro Detroit. 2.5 miles is some of the best haunted-type scenes all along their loop of track. Too cool. A Must-do for 2021 for sure.”
