“We had a situation everyone dreads… there’s probably only one worse thing than it being “the transmission”. We are new to the area and found Lenawee Transmission via google. We went in blind not by referral and hoped for the best. We were faced with an extenuating circumstance due to the age of our truck and limited finances available to it but I love this truck and wasn’t about to make it a lawn ornament. Thanks to the amazing, patient, trustworthy Derek we have the ole girl back on the road! Despite our obstacles Derek put in the time and the effort to be sure we got this repair done and done right!! I simply cannot put to words how highly we recommend Lenawee Transmission and Derek! It’s often said you can’t trust a mechanic and they will find all sorts of reasons to jack your bill up. Derek did not do that. He gave us his professional recommendation and we gave him our situation and we met in the middle! He was always kind and would take the time to actually explain what’s going on so we understood the inner workings of our transmission and even showed us the damage. He didn’t have to do all that but he did! Exceptional customer service to people who knew nothing about his industry. “Let me begin by stating that Mel (owner of 5 Star Service) is the most fair, honest and knowledgeable person that you can trust with your PWC/Jet Boat repair in southeast Michigan. I have a Yamaha LS 2000 Jet Boat that he has serviced several times. I sank my boat in 2017 and he rebuilt both motors for a very reasonable price. Those motors are still running today and I have had no trouble on any kind. Most recently, I bought another Yamaha LS2000 earlier this year and literally blew the motor up under high RPMs (engine pieces in the bottom of the hull). Mel supplied and installed a completely rebuilt motor and was able to salvage parts off my old motor in order to save me some of the core charge (in my opinion the old motor had no value due to the amount of damage). He was also able to identify other issues with the boat and fix them at very little additional cost. I recommend 5 Star Service to everyone I know and would not take my watercraft to anyone else.
