We had a great experience with Twin Cities Tandems! After several years of riding a very entry level tandem, we decided to upgrade. Since we are both tall, we weren’t sure what size bike would be best for us. Steve was incredibly helpful with fitting us to the right bike. We really appreciated being able to try different bikes to get a feel for which bike we felt the most comfortable with, and appreciated Steve fine tuning and adjusting the bike to make sure it fit us perfectly. We’re so excited about our new tandem and very thankful for Steve’s help!

What do you do, when it's time to upgrade from a trusty tandem? We are a pretty experienced tandem team, and huge Santana fans.

With our 30 anniversary approaching, we wanted to start the next 30 years with a new tandem that fit, was the right color, and had the features we needed. We wanted it to be lighter than our current tandem, have a great wheelset, and have a better fit than our current ride.

After doing some searching we were disappointed to find there aren't any Santana dealers in the Chicago area. Even outside of Chicago, there aren't many with stock. Santana's website had Twin Cities Tandems listed as a dealer, and after doing some Facebook, Google, and web searching, it appeared there was stock - we got excited. I posted a question on a picture on Facebook, and Steve responded almost immediately with a direct message asking some questions. The dialogue continued off and on over the course of a couple weeks, and we scheduled a trip to the cycling cities of Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Arriving on a Monday morning, Steve was smiling, gracious, and ready to help us find the tandem for the next 30 years. With different tandems available to ride, we started with the Sovereign, and it felt great! Then we moved to an Escape, and we could tell the difference an upgraded wheel set made on the Escape. When we got back and talked with Steve about it, he mentioned he could easily do a wheel swap as the Sovereign fit our needs better than the Escape, but we liked the feel of the wheels on the Escape more than the wheels on Sovereign. Steve then offered a test ride on a super fun folding tandem while he got to swapping the wheels.

By the time we loaded up, and headed home, we'd spent a few hours with Steve, and I can't recommend him and his shop enough. He knows his stuff, and he will work with you to find what fits your needs best. He'll make tweaks where needed to dial in the tandem, and has stock of accessories to finish off the build. He gave some recommendations on where to ride as well, which is great knowledge for the next time we travel up to the Twin Cities.

We were so happy to find a local tandem specific shop we could support instead of having to try to purchase online, or from a long distance away. After describing what we wanted for our next tandem, Steve recommended options and was able to help us dial in the final choice. The shop has a variety of tandems from different manufacturers, and price points. It was great to be able to test ride bikes close to home to compare different styles & sizes. Steve was a pleasure to work with, and we felt comfortable with our purchase through his shop from beginning to delivery. Thanks Steve!

We were looking to purchase our first tandem bicycle and found Twin Cities Tandems. Being new to tandems, we were interested in getting an overview in tandem riding and didn’t think we’d get it from our usual bike shop. TCT provided a great introduction to tandems. We started out with the captain riding alone, then with Steve as stoker, then Steve as captain with stoker, then we got to ride together. Steve and Kayla shared what works for them in their tandem riding. They worked with us on our tandem bike options and then through the purchase process. They were available for questions and kept us updated on our order status. It was a great experience for purchasing our first tandem and would highly recommend Twin Cities Tandems.
