My pit bull mix and I love it here! I felt so welcomed by the “regulars”!! The park is super well maintained, wood-chipped paths, trash cans are well spread out around the park, plastic bags are available if you forget one from home, and overall just great!!! It is definitely worth a $46ish annual pass!!!
This place is great. I have had any issues with aggressive dogs and it seems everyone is really helpful and nice. Large areas for the dogs to run in. The walking trails are great and covered in wood chips so even after the rain, you don't get super muddy.
Things to be aware of:
1. No water is provided. This means bring your own, to ensure fresh water. There are bowls for the dogs, and usually there is water in them...but that water can be very dirty.
2. Toys are technically not allowed. People will fuss at you if you bring them
3. In the evening (during the summer), the bats come out. They will swoop by your head.
R. Make sure you and your dog have tick protection.
This is one of our favorite dog parks. We get a nice walk through the woods with our dogs, while listening to birdsong. There's normally no standing water for the dogs to get wet in.
Sometimes the compost site nextdoor smells a bit, but it's never too bad, and I'm kind of used to it.
Enjoy the wooded paths which are covered well with wood chips keeping the mud down! I also appreciate the cement parking lot....less mud! Negative: Really would like to see water available for the dogs to drink/ a well and maybe hose to rinse off your dog.
Dog park is amazing, especially with the trails through the woods. FYI, The park is not free, but worth it.
Please be careful as people bring their aggressive dogs and or some don't watch or pay attention to them. My dog has been bit numerous times there. Just keep any eye on your dog. And read the signs, NO toys as dogs fight over them!
Also, PLEASE do NOT bring puppies there! The vet will tell you to wait until 2 weeks after their last shots (4 months and 2 weeks old. Minimum). They get ganged up on and their immune system is strong enough yet.
