“This daycare center located in Edina (near Southwest Minneapolis) is top notch! Children have access to the indoor playpark, gym and many other activities offered (dance, soccer, music, Spanish, sign language, etc.) all lead by caring, capable and intelligent teachers. We have sent both of our children through this center and can't say enough good things. Very impressed.”

“Take this review with a grain of salt for two reasons. 1. I went to Highlands over ten years ago, and 2. I only ever went to one elementary school so I can't compare it all that well to other schools. With that being said, the one thing I learned at Highlands that I still use today in college is the simple skill of raising my hand. We were drilled to raise our hands at Highlands if we knew the answer or had a question, if you didn't raise your hand 75% of the time you would get called out. In college the fact that I ask so many questions I feel keeps me more engaged and helps me remember the material better. It also influences the professor to give me a better grade as I'm so engaged.”

“I’ll do my best to post an honest, informative review, as I have three children attending. ISLA is a Spanish-immersion charter school that has qualified as an International Baccalaureate World School. That means they follow the IB curriculum, which encourages students to think critically and learn through both a local and global context. The curriculum also promotes character development and social skills. Generally, IB schools have prepared students well for higher education. Jeremy Perrin serves as the principal. From my limited perspective, he does a good job caring for the students and staff while advocating for educational advancement. I personally prefer a Socratic style of teaching, which you won’t find as much here as in some private schools, but you also don’t pay anything for this education. However, I do think they could improve significantly in this aspect. More important than information dissemination is training a child to think critically, employ logic and reason, and challenge ideas not founded on those elements. In my copious amount of research, and now from personal experience, I have found the the school does very well at educating children to surpass government standards, while fostering important values. Equally important is their ability to do this without involving themselves in political persuasions of the day, which is always a temptation.”

“EFC provides a wonderful, enriching, and dynamic experience. All of the teachers are very knowledgeable, kind, and compassionate with the children. The directors are very involved in the day-to-day work in all of the classrooms and therefore have an authentic relationship with each child and family. We have felt very supported by the EFC staff and our kids love their time there!”

“We had a wonderful experience at Goddard with our daughter in all aspects of their care and education. Goddard started watching our daughter right after my wife's maternity leave ended, and did a phenomenal job caring for her in each stage through being a relative newborn to a walking and babbling toddler. In addition to a curriculum that kept our daughter engaged and excited to go to Goddard, they kept us up to date with regular pictures and updates. We could not be happier with the environment Hetal and her staff have created, and would recommend Goddard to anyone looking for high quality and educational care for their children.”

“I got a set of custom clubs made here, and they did a great job of matching equipment to my body and swing. I felt they had a high level of expertise and that I was getting quality equipment and quality custom-fitting from friendly and intuitive pros.”

“Isaiah has an incredible way to take even someone with zero musical ability, teach them a few notes, play a beat they can follow and give them opportunities to add their own creativity. Its so fun to watch him play, and even more fun to learn from him or watch him teach! Ask him to teach you your favorite radio hit!!!”

“Valley View Edina is awesome, we have been so pleased to have our daughter attend. I would welcome more work / life balance around homework, but educational needs are well met. Teacher support is A+”

“>>My one concern w/ the administration is that they have ignored the school boundary issue even though everyone I know wants them to do something (with research, a meeting, a briefing, legislative lobbying, or something else...). >> To summarize the issue: 1)) There are families who live in the city of Edina but not the Edina school district. 2)) Their children attend the Edina schools through open-enrollment. 3)) W/ open enrollment, the state money "follows the student" but the property taxes do not. 4)) These families (along with the great majority of in-district families) support a school district boundary change so that their children would be in-district, rather than open-enrollment, students. 5)) Then their property taxes (about $500,000/year) could go to the Edina schools that are currently serving them and that they care about. >> Yet the administration does little, if anything, to address the issue. It's understandable that they're afraid to "make waves" with other school districts that currently receive the money (without actually educating the students). >> Still, I wish their first priority would be to do what's clearly best for the Edina district.”

“It is wonderful under the esteemed administration of Doctor Timothy Anderson. Dr Anderson has restored this school and cleaned out the scum of the halls with his hall pass policy. But I'm not quite sure if he is a real doctor. Learn Lots, have Pride in your school and pride in yourself.”
