He helped me pick out a great mattress along with giving me advice on a base to pair it with. He was informative without pressuring me to buy, and I left to think it over and make a decision. “>>My one concern w/ the administration is that they have ignored the school boundary issue even though everyone I know wants them to do something (with research, a meeting, a briefing, legislative lobbying, or something else...). >> To summarize the issue: 1)) There are families who live in the city of Edina but not the Edina school district. 2)) Their children attend the Edina schools through open-enrollment. 3)) W/ open enrollment, the state money "follows the student" but the property taxes do not. 4)) These families (along with the great majority of in-district families) support a school district boundary change so that their children would be in-district, rather than open-enrollment, students. 5)) Then their property taxes (about $500,000/year) could go to the Edina schools that are currently serving them and that they care about. >> Yet the administration does little, if anything, to address the issue. It's understandable that they're afraid to "make waves" with other school districts that currently receive the money (without actually educating the students). >> Still, I wish their first priority would be to do what's clearly best for the Edina district.”
