“This review is of the pool for swimming lessons. The instructors are kind, patient and knowledgeable. My son has taken three group courses and 1 semi-private course. We continue to take lessons here because they understand his abilities and challenge him at the level he is at. When we tried another place for lessons, a parent/child course, it was so poorly run, he quit 3 lessons in. The class was way too advanced for a beginner course. The water was freezing and the instructor was not engaging. It took him another two years to muster up the courage to try learning to swim again. The only reason I didn't give the pool 5 stars was because on busy nights seating is limited. You may have to stand. The pool does not have a diving board which could be beneficial when teaching diving into the water. But I appreciate that they keep the water so warm for the kids and that there are no drafts since there are no windows. We will continue to take lessons here until my son is a proficient swimmer. Our hope is that he can do all four major strokes and also swim the length of the pool. Just getting over his fear of the water was a huge victory and I have the New Brighton Parks and Recreation to thank for that!”

The ownership team is involved and certainly has the interests of their students and staff in mind at all times. They did a great job navigating the challenges of COVID, and were able to provide a safe and healthy environment. “Great school! I attended Irondale from 2004-2008 and I felt that they have a great program. All the teachers were helpful, classes were relevant and went onto to help in college especially with PSEO and AP courses. Irondale isn't a huge athletic school as I felt that the main focus was on academics but bottom line is they are a top notch school in my honest opinion.”

“I have seen clear expectations set for the Kindergarteners. Each time I am in school for an event or before/after school program, I see adults being good role models. Teachers know how to be leaders, and still find ways to make learning fun. It is organized by elementary schools, so the kids get to know others who will be joining them in first grade. They offer opportunities for family involvement- without pressuring - and the faculty/staff are respectful. The same goes for ECFE; my daughter loved the side-by-side 3s and 4s. I hope this helps!”
