W.A. Frost is located in the historic Dacotah Building on the southeast corner of Selby and Western Avenue. Built in 1889, the Dacotah Building has seen many changes to the downtown St. Paul landscape and remains one of the landmarks of Historic Cathedral Hill.
The building, in the Richardson Romanesque style, has arched doorways and windows, copper cornices, and walls of sandstone and brick. The present owners, attracted by the arched windows, bays and fanciful brickwork, purchased the largely empty Dacotah Building in 1974.
