Absolutely LOVE Lake & Irving!! I hope their pop-up location in Savage turns into a permanent restaurant because the food is unbelievable & we need more places like this in the area! :)
I'm a picky eater, so I won't knock a star off for food quality, but it did lose a star to value. I had the Luxe Burger, and Truffle Fries. Burger was great, cooked well done, cheese was delicious. Fries were pretty much perfectly cooked, packed full of flavor. The Pickles were very sweet and mild, perfect for me but not for a lot of people who are used to the zesty/sour/vinegary pickle taste.
Personally, I like Lions Tap better as that's my gold standard for burgers. Over the Luxe Burger, they're cooked Medium so they're crazy juicy, the meat is seasoned thoroughly(I couldn't really taste much meat flavor over the cheese/butter combination on the Luxe), and you get a much bigger portion, but the bun isn't as good. You can get a a single that's the same meat amount as the Luxe (even though it looks like two patties), with lettuce/onion/tomato/bacon/mushroom with fries for 11, whereas the Luxe with Fries is 18 with no fixings but more on the "novelty" side.
I recommend you at least try it once, especially if you're in Savage since the value and taste preference could be to your liking. I'd definitely try other food here again.
Service was quick. Food was still hot. Well Presented and Packaged. Nothing forgotten. Curbside Delivery. Chef I could tell is pretty good.
The food is delicious and we were happy to support this local business. We tried the chicken katsu Asian salad and the cheeseburger. The salad was a little spendy but is big enough to make 2 meals.
Oh man, best restaurant food I have had in a long time!!!! I had the short rib pasta from the Savage pop-up tonight (1/9/21) and it was just amazing! The meat was so tender, the veggies fresh, the sauce was just delicious and not too heavy...Worth every penny!
