Good trails and large park

Nice picnic shelter which you can reserve through submitting a firm to Oak Park Heights city government (check their website.) Only downside is that the shelter lights come on (presumably) by timer. On a cloudy and rainy day the shelter was pretty dark inside. Other than that, nice playgrounds and an interesting view coming down the hill towards the river with the prison right across the road.

Really nice park to have a family gathering. Charcoal grills and a covered picnic area. Very clean and well stocked bathrooms. Playground and lots of room to air the kids out. Quiet area to clear your head or take a quick snooze. Highly recommended

Valley View Park is a hidden gem in the Oak Park Heights. You can easily miss this place as you drive out of town and find yourself cruising past the correctional facility. Look for the park sign and follow a meandering road between the prison and a bunch of backyards with boats and vehicles stored behind them.

Once you get to the park, you'll find an all brick building with restrooms, a nice playground, and hilly terrain that's perfect for sledding. Be sure to check out the trails this parks has to offer. It's terrain is more challenging than most Twin City metro city parks can offer. Enjoy!

Great trail system near the park. Great newer playground and super quiet. Not many people and plenty of parking. Nice picnic table area and indoor bathrooms.
