Rice Lodge & Conference Center

Clean cozy rooms. Very friendly and accommodating.

I found the Rice Lodge through Airbnb while looking for a quiet place in Nebraska I could go to for a couple of nights over Labor Day weekend. I was hoping to do some writing and research, and some reading too, away from my day-to-day responsibilities in the city. The Rice Lodge in Odell absolutely fit the bill. The lodge is housed in a two-story renovated brick hospital with 10 en-suite rooms, a kitchen, two lounges, outdoor porches and balconies, and WiFi. There are a market and a bar and grill about a block away. I didn’t need a car, and for exercise I just walked the streets and sidewalks of Odell, snapping a few photos on my way.
The Bures Room and bed were extremely cozy and comfortable. Breakfast is continental, which, honestly, I usually prefer to a fixed menu served in a narrow timeframe. I used the lodge’s tidy kitchen at other times too.
I hope to come back and to encourage friends and family to visit. I can see a retreat happening here, no question.

I work on the road and had a job in a nearby town, otherwise I don’t think we would have ever found this place. An absolutely charming B&B in a peaceful town right on Main Street, USA. And we had the whole place to ourselves!! If you ever find yourself in or near Odell, NE, you’ll definitely want to spend a night here. Friendly reception, lovely building with a rich history, and prices that can’t be beat. I look forward to working in the area again so I can return for another stay! :)
