    Decent sized lake with some beach and docks to fish from. Not overly busy.

    Swimming beach is fairly gravelly. The bottom of the lake get pretty squishy the farther out you swim, with 6-10 inches of soft squishy mud. Otherwise it is a very relaxing atmosphere good for families to spend the afternoon.

    Great lake to spend some time away from the city at. The north end is excellent for kayaking and bird watching.

    Great lake when the blue algae and ecoli haven't struck yet. Coming for years and is one of our favorite swimming, fishing, and camping lake!

Wagon Train State Recreation Area comprises 746 acres of land and a 315-acre lake two miles east of Hickman. The area offers boating, fishing, picnicking and a swimming beach.
