It is a great shop with very good bikes in an excellent location. I enjoyed the 8-hour “all-day” ride opportunity.
The shop did very well at describing the trails.
The bike I rented (Slash 9.7) was a pretty creaky bike (BB or crank bolts?), but otherwise rode very well and was set up very good for my weight. It was a great “show up and ride experience.”
I would have liked to know at the time of booking that my rental slot (1000-1800) was actually six hours instead of eight since the shop closed at 4:00. I found out when I received my reminder email the day before. I would have adjusted my times better if I knew in advance.
Overall, I would (and already have) provided recommendations for this shop based on the friendly staff, available bicycles, and location. Well done.
My husband and I made reservations online, which made it so easy, we walked in told them who we were and off we went. The folks at the shop were super helpful, giving us suggestions based on our typical riding. We had a blast and the weather was amazing! When we returned we were offered a cold beer and purchased some great gear! If you are an MTBer this is the place to visit. Be sure to ask them about the rubber ducky trail.
Amazing place! I highly recommend stopping in Blue Diamond and McGhie’s Outlost. My friend and I drove from California to ride the Red Rock loop. When we arrived, I realized I forgot my helmet in the hotel. There was a massive traffic jam and getting back to the hotel to pick up the helmet would have been a nightmare. We checked in the visitor’s center and they recommended going to McGhie’s in Blue Diamon, which is only 7 miles away.
What a great place! They saved the day by allowing me to barrow a helmet! Do yourself a favor and skip the traffic at Red Rock. Head straight to McGhie’s, check out their gear, park the vehicle and ride from there. It adds some miles and the road and ride are fantastic.
When you get back, you HAVE to check out the cafe directly behind McGhie’s. FANTASTIC food, good prices, and nice atmosphere (including outdoor seating with fireplace).
This just became a regular stop for my on my Vegas trips.
Rented 4 bikes from them over the weekend, bikes were in good shape, and the guys that work there were pretty cool too. Got great directions for the trail since it was our first time riding blue diamond. They also accommodated due to poor weather, we originally had booked Saturday and they moved the rental to Sunday no problem. If you're in the area check out these trails and check out McGhie's.
Rented high quality mountain bike at a reasonable price here to go riding on trails that start right outside the shop. There are so many trails to choose from and the staff at McGhie's were very helpful in recommending the best trails to suit our level and wishes. Trails are interlinked and you can ride for hours in the spectacular rocky desert. Will come here again.

The 10 best bicycle rides in the West? Impossible. Even a 100-best roster couldn't embrace the variety, hair-raising terrain and eye-popping scenery. So this list is limited to favorites that colleagues or I have ridden, ordered alphabetically and tilted toward the Golden State.
