I discovered this gorgeous Paradise at first Creek trailhead 30 years ago. It's still serene a little bit difficult to get to during the last hundred feet into the canyon but easy if you come up the canyon although it's a good challenge for 4 creek Stone jumping.
along the way you see Joshua Tree remnants and as you Follow the incline about 1.5 miles from the Red Rock Loop Highway the vegetation increase is to Green quickly. You may see lizards snakes a rare tarantula or Birds sometimes blue and miniature flowers along the way. Today they were a miniature carpets of little purple flowers but the bigger ones have yet to Bloom as it's too early. the water at the Box Canyon is at its maximum height right now because the annual rainfall for Vegas has been reached already
The hike up is probably a level one or two but can increase dramatically depending on when and how far you go once you reach the base of the mountains what's your probably 1,500 feet higher in some places.
enjoy your day and God bless Jesus loves you be safe bring water
Nice short hike . Cute little water fall.
Fairly easy hike. 1.5 miles to the waterfall. In March there was a good amount of water. Great place for pictures. Parking is along the side of the road. Had no problem finding a spot.
Stunning hike to do this time of year! You come across several waterfalls on the way up that are beautiful to look at and relaxing to listen to. Make sure and wear good shoes and layers.
What a great place! Not a difficult hike at all, but great scenery all around! The hike is about 1.6 miles one way and has some great places to rest in the shade toward the end. Out and back can be done in an hour, but give yourself 2-3 hours if you want to explore the canyon at the end or spend much time enjoying the creek. Great with dogs!
