  Bryan Wilson is not only a talented cellist, he is also an inspired composer, teacher, and gifted story teller. His music transitions easily from Eastern (Viet Nam) to Wester traditions (Bach). At his recent 90 minute concert for the Friends of the Teaneck Library (June 2023), the sophisticated audience was delighted to discover his music which expresses a wide range of emotional registers. The feedback was only positive and the Friends have already extended an invitation for a return engagement.

  Brian is a fantastic cello teacher ! Our son has made great progresses and enjoys a lot the lessons on zoom with Brian. They are very much centered on the student's needs and music tastes. Our son likes movies songs which are sometimes challenging to play so Brian would quickly write a simplified version and turn back the music sheet. But at the same time Brian practices technics and theory (notes, rhythms). And as our son says “it is also cool” ! We are amazed to see how far he has gone thanks to Brian and how his interest in cello and music in general has grown so much.

  Bryan is a consummate professional instructor. He instills tremendous wisdom to each of his students both in the traditional method of cello and the mindset and approach required to excel in your studies. I highly recommend him to anyone in search of instruction in cello and also general music.

  Bryan is a great cello teacher. I'm a 57 year old man who loves the cello but had no prior lessons on the cello until I started with Bryan. Being extremely nervous about trying to learn an instrument I knew nothing about, Bryan immediately made me feel comfortable. He took the time to explain things to me at my own pace and showed me the importance of form and proper technique. His classes are always very positive and although learning an instrument can be very frustrating I still always look forward to our next class together. Tom G.

  Bryan is not only one of the best cello teachers I've had, but one of the best music instructors I've had in general. He takes a very modern approach to learning the cello - and as a full-time working composer, this method is invaluable. If you're looking to learn cello (and especially if you want to learn cello improvisation), then I can't think of a better fit than Bryan.
