“The Van Allen house brings me back to simpler times in Oakland. A time where family came first and people were kind to their neighbor. I can proudly say the Van Allen House is probably the most important landmark in the county, if not the state.”

“When I was a child I went to school across the street. The house was so creepy I would run past it. It was so wonderful to see that it has been restored and so many of the Rosenkratz family belongings remain. My sister and I were there in May and were only able to walk the grounds. We went back earlier this month and were able to see the inside. Our Docent was very knowledgeable about the history of the house. What an amazing home it is! And the rumors about George Washington having slept there are true! I only wish that as a child I'd had the courage to knock on Miss Rosenkrantz's door. Who knows, she might have even let me in!”

“Really cool place to see history of helicopters and planes used in US military and Aviation. As a veteran I brought my service dog I had at the time and it was a great experience. The staff was very friendly and would definitely recommend to stop by for a quick little trip. If you have kids they would absolutely have a blast here also watching the planes land at the airport!”

“Sullivan's Point is a Rail Photography spot located on CSX's River Subdivision, formerly the West Shore Line. Located at the end of Christie Street in Ridgefield Park, this elevated trackside "platform" offers great views of southbound and northbound freight trains operating on the line. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: An access path to the left of the steel platform was cleared as not to intrude on the driveway of the residence to the right. Please be respectful and do not stand in their driveway for your shots. A broom and rake have been left by the platform. If it looks dirty, do your part by giving it some attention. **This Rail Photography spot was brought to you and funded by Sullivan & Sullivan**”
