“I've used this ramp a bunch of times this summer, never had a problem. Ramp is free, and usually not too busy. People put in everything from jet skis to 30 foot boats. There's a small dock alongside the ramp so you can tie up while you go get your trailer. Plenty of parking to the right of the ramp that is designated for trucks/trailers only (no restaurant or public parking). Ramp is definitely better during high tide, low tide is fine for jet skis but I wouldn't try a big boat.”

“My 9 year old daughter and I rented a double kayak for the 10 am tour. Our guide was a marine biologist who was super enthusiastic about Cape May and the marsh lands. He was able to point out dozens of different birds and explain a lot about the ecology of the marsh. He also knew a lot about the history of the island. I would totally recommend the tour to others. My wife was really worried that it would be too much for my daughter. It was not! She had a great time. The location is totally calm and chill. Any non trained person could take a kayak out here.”

“Family legacy wonderful little retreat to nature. The trails are so diverse with stops to paint on easels and blinds for bird watching to the walking path through the native vines and plant life. The Garrett's have created a Natural resource a getaway from the crowds. On behalf of the this Dolan Family we would like to express our gratitude.!!!”

“Captain Bob & Tom are both birding naturalists who make you feel at ease on board the Osprey, a very solid & safe feeling pontoon boat. We had a great time and saw many shore birds, raptors, a Nelson’s sparrow, belted kingfisher, 2 bald eagles, many greater yellowlegs & black crowned night herons. Whether you’re just out for a nice sail on Cape May Harbor & the beautiful saltwater marshes, or are a serious birder &/or photographer, Captain Bob will do all he can to make the experience enjoyable.”

“We love this little park! Our kids enjoy running around, going on the swings, and playing on the playground. There is some talk of the park being demolished for more townhomes, I hope this doesn't happen. This little park is a gem in the Diamond Beach community.”

“Fun little park with good field area. They have really nice, smooth surface basketball and tennis courts. Good playground for the little ones with swings, monkey bars, slides, etc. They even have a sand volleyball area next to a good party/picnic pavilion. The soccer field in the back doesn't always have good nets despite updating it a few years back. Sometimes they put down fresh lines and other times nothing.”

“Traveling full-time in a 38-foot coach we stayed 2-nights in a site for big rigs. The good….If you desire to stay close to Cape May this would be a good option. The residents occupy all the sites upfront so this is a quiet park, and very well maintained. If you have a dog there's ample area to walk. After 2-nights the dust on our coach was minimal compared to many other parks. Big coaches need a gravel pad, so we give this RV Park a 5-star rating for the thick gravel pad. There was plenty of area next to the coach for sitting outside and setting up a BBQ. The bad…at the front of our site was a big electrical panel. Our cell phones didn't work at our site (probably due to the cursed electrical panel) however, if we walked a distance away, our phones worked fine. That was a definite inconvenience. There is no reason why they should have put us there with all the other open sites. Also, if you have satellite and your staying in a site located on the outside perimeter, you won't receive reception due to all the beautiful tall trees. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again, but we would definitely request a different site.”

“Awesome place to be with family If you have a nice size tent Bring it there's plenty of room for it , Always ask for water and electric at your site. Down fall???? When it rains and your on the sand area camping it's the worst! Try getting a concrete floor or paved We had water mixed with sand coming from all directions into our tarp before reaching our 10x10 canopy family tent. We made a crease on the floor to chase the rain water out.. It was fun after all.”

“A really spectacular sight on a good day, with thousands of songbirds whizzing by and above your head. A great and generally peaceful way to start the morning birding before birding the nearby Higbee's Beach trails and/or heading to the raptor count platform. Most days, you MUST arrive at sunrise (or very close to it) in order to see the bulk of the flight; most days it slows to a trickle by about by 8 AM. The official morning flight count starts August 15th and runs through October 31st for the first two hours after sunrise (occassionaly later if there is a big flight), and there is naturalist available to answer questions from September 1 through October 15th(ish). Early September offers the best warbler diversity, droves of tree swallows come through later in through early October, and late October often has the biggest flights of the season (mostly yellow-rumped warblers). Wind conditions are important; if you can be there for a cold front coming out of the northwest, that is your best shot for a good flight., though north or northeast winds can produce great flights as well. Sunny days are ideal, otherwise everything is back lit. You have two options for viewing: the dike to the east of the road and the platform to the west. The dike offers the best lighting on migrating birds as they zoom by, and that is where the official count takes place, but don't bug the official counter if they are busy, please! The platform doesn't have great lighting for most of the flying birds, but you can often get much better looks at birds that are moving through the bushes and pausing for a bit. The naturalist is generally on the platform as well, and they will do their best to answer your questions, though identifying birds flying quickly over your head by shape, wing beats, and flight call alone is difficult art to master! Full disclosure: I worked as a naturalist for a season at CMBO, but I am currently not affiliated with them and the opinions expressed here are my own. Info from personal experience and CMBO's annual publication, the Peregrine Observer.”
