“On behalf of myself and the condo association, I would like to thank the Bayonne Fire Department for their speedy response to protect us, as well as the units. Yesterday, there was some sort of transformer explosion from a helium balloon resulting in a fire, power outages, down lines, and other damages. The sound of the electrical surges and explosions could be heard by the entire block. It started at the other end of the block and worked its way all the way down the block snapping line after line. There were children playing, and it was very dangerous. It was a very scary scene to witness and the voltage could have been very harmful. THANK YOU FOR PROTECTING. People should not release these balloons in the air. They are dangerous! Very good work here.”
