“A Battello is a small boat often tied to larger boats and used to bring people back and forth from the shore. I’m not sure why this name was chosen and a lot of times I’ve passed their statue with the name under it and wondered what it was. I found out that it’s a real jewel on the Hudson in Jersey city. The first thing you’ll notice is that while the building itself looks small, the establishment is incredibly spacious, and well thought out. Very very clean. The staff is very courteous and professional. While sitting at the bar having a coffee I listen to the bar keep and a host discuss the wine, making sure it was chilled properly etc. very thoughtful. I liked that the customer doesn’t know that they’re working behind the scenes to make the moment nice. The view outside of Manhattan is incredible also and worth the visit if just to look at the skyline while having a Manhattan from the bar. It also looks like the beginning of some construction on a adjacent bit of land of which I’m hopeful it won’t obstruct the view. This is how a restaurant should be and I’ll write more when I have time to eat there.”

“When I lived in North Bergen I first came to Frank's and this was a long while ago over 25 years ago. Frank's Pizza along with other food made here has only gotten better. Frank is still here a bit older but a good cook. He's now working with his sons. You can't miss by coming here to eat. Prices are lower than most locations and the atmosphere is almost like eating with family.”
