“Beautiful riverside trail in a fairly quiet area. The trail is well kept, sometimes there are horses passing through - so watch your step! Lots of dog walkers. The trail is decently wide with steep drops on one side but enough room to pass others if necessary. Good for walking or biking.”

“The gorge is truly a beautiful place to take in a little nature. The Raritan at this point hardly resembles its later form down in New Brunswick. I saw Ken Lockwood Gorge described as the most beautiful place in New Jersey. I can assure you that nothing of the sort is true. However, it is indeed very scenic. The trail through the gorge is essentially a road on which cars are not allowed. Otherwise, there isn’t much in the way of exploring the area on interesting trails. Don’t visit expecting serenity. The area seems to be very popular. I would mostly recommend it for nice family outings, as it is suitable for young children. I also saw a nice rainbow trout caught on a fly, so maybe the fishing is as good as they say.”
