Wu's Shanghai Dumpling(Edison) 上海小笼

This is a long-standing Chinese Restaurant known for their soup dumplings. I recall as early as the 2000s when my family and relatives would stop by for a meal. Since covid, they’ve been very cautious and didn’t open dine-in until recently - worth the +2 year wait especially with their renovations and new modern interior look!

Ordering is self-serve: they have 3 tablet where you can place your order. You’ll get a order number sent to your phone, and they have a big tv screen with order numbers queued up. They’ll also call you once it’s ready.

Our party of two came on Saturday at 2pm to beat the lunch and dinner crowd, as we knew the space is small. Had the tried-and true beef wrapped in scallion and pork soup dumplings, and tried their beef noodle soup and their egg yolk shu mai. Beef noodle soup was decent, but the first two (soup dumplings and scallion wraps) will also be my go-tos. 💕

Small spaces with only few seating areas. Been to this places multiple times always crowded. self service, you have to order from iPad and pick it up yourself. Food was so good, best Shanghai pan fried pork bun with sesame on the bottom.

I ordered the pork dumplings in spicy sauce…..delicious! A spicy peanut sauce, the dumplings were incredible, silky, and just delicious! Too bad you can’t seat inside, but worth eating in your car!
I saw a lot of Chinese customers picking up food, so it must be good!

THE BEST soup dumplings anywhere in the US. Loooong wait times and lines (pre pandemic!!!) and slightly over the average prices.

I have tried soup dumplings all over the US and I believe this place has better soup dumplings than even the very famous dumpling houses of NYC. 3 dishes that you don't want to miss are pork soup dumplings, crab meat dumplings and meat and vegetable wontons in spicy source.
