I had this place on my radar to go to since they opened several years ago. I finally stopped in yesterday for the first time for lunch. I was greeted warmly by the hostess and waitstaff as soon as I arrived. The overall atmosphere of the restaurant is spectacularly beautiful. I could really see this place really hopping in the summer months. My server Jamie was friendly and very attentive, and the food came out super fast. The menu is a tad small and a bit odd, but from what I was told, nothing can be substituted. I do, however, agree with several other reviewers that the prices are pretty high for the amount of food that is served. I ordered the Crab Cake and the Maine Lobster Roll, and both were very tasty, but again, I wish there was more for the price. The Whale Mary cocktail was absolutely fantastic. I even got complimentary french fries to go with my order because of a mix-up. Overall, I was pretty happy with my experience and would dine here again in the future.
I so love this place! And the staff, super friendly and accommodating! Thank you for the experience!
However…. I find the grilled Octopus a bit short compared to what I see on other people’s reviews and post, I feel like the price is a bit expensive for that much serving. Other than that everything is amazing.
Metered street parking in Asbury, there's an app or u can pay at the stations, need your license plate. Great atmosphere, staff was amazing. I wish I remembered my waiters name, he was amazing (bearded dude, deep voice, glasses--you rock!). We went on a Friday night, reservations - 6pm they were not needed, but it gets busy. The food was amazing, portions were decent. To start we had grilled octopus and calamari. The octopus came with this garbanzo salad that I loved. Octopus was tender, not chewy, cooked perfectly. Calamari--it came out lightly breaded and it looked like lightly cooked. The calamari was perfectly cooked so it wasn't rubbery, don't be fooled by the light color of the breading...while it wasn't crispy on the outside, the calamari was cooked perfect. Dinners were Jerk Mahi Mahi Tacos and husband had a special of the night, Halibut. It was one of the best Halibut i have ever tasted. Tacos were delsih too, but according to my husband "not jerky enough"--it was fine by me. Tacos were a tad over stuffed so they were a little messy, but who cares, they were delightful. For dessert, chocolate souffle that I ate all by myself, husband doesn't like sweets. Reasonably priced, on the expensive side, but worth it IMO. Will likely return.
