Dealing with anything in the NJ court system can be an intimidating, daunting, byzantine task.
When I called in to begin the process of clearing up years of outstanding citations, I was ready to be treated, and spoken to like a criminal (parking tickets that resulted in suspended license, if you want to know, nosy). I was not. As a matter of fact, quite the opposite.
"Wave of relief" doesn't even begin to cover how I felt during and after my call with Krystle. She not only explained the processes for the courts, she went through my records and told me, chronologically, what had to happen to make things right.
I don't know if the town of Interlaken understands what an asset they have on their roster in Krystle (I hope I'm spelling that correctly), but if your admin is reading this, give this person a raise, an award, a yacht.
Without getting on a soapbox, I'll say this: we live in a current climate of callousness. The empathy, kindness, and patience shown by this random voice on the other end of the phone made the prospect of dealing with the seemingly endless spin cycle of fines and judgement significantly less terrifying.
