We continue to have work performed by this Company. We scheduled to replace wooden soffets that were peeling below two of our bay windows. Nicole was GREAT in helping to get this work scheduled for us, despite one of their technicians having medical issues and therefore was unable to handle the job. Nicole worked diligently to reschedule the work and employed two other individuals who performed the job in a highly professional, satisfactory manner. They were friendly, explaining exactly what they were going to do and then went over all of the completed work with me. Thank you Ace Home Improvements and special thanks to Nicole!
The technician, Steve, arrived promptly to perform the work on our garage doors. He was very friendly and professional. He did excellent work, and the garage door is operating very smoothly, much better than ever before. And he cleaned up after his work. We are thoroughly satisfied and would highly recommend them for future work.
We recently called to arrange for repairs on a garage door. The individual that I spoke with, Nicole, was very friendly and professional. After explaining the work that we would need done, she indicated she would talk to one of the experts and get back to me promptly with the cost of the work. I received a call back the same day with the price and immediately scheduled the work to be done. While the work is scheduled for the future, and I will update this review after the work is completed, I am writing this review to reflect how satisfied I was with speaking to Nicole.
This was the second house I've used Ace to install siding with. Both times have been a great experience and while there were some challenges on this house, they worked with me and made everything perfect. Thanks to Maria who was in charge of the day to day of the job and made sure all was done, on time and as promised and kept me informed every step of the way. Thanks to Ace for a great experience.
We just love our new front doors…we’re already saving money because of the added screen doors…after a month we’ve only put on our A/C twice. We would have had it on constantly. The installers were extremely respectful of our home, Emilio and Paul and their crew were wonderful. They even went out to get our preferred replacement molding! I recommend using Ace for any project you need done. Their price for the same job was half the amount that Anderson Renewal quoted us!
Nick Berra, our salesman, came by during the installation just to make sure we were happy with the job being done…you can’t ask for more than that!
We installed 9 windows in our townhouse/condo and researched it thoroughly. I narrowed it down to Sunrise, Okna and Soft-Lite, possibly Slocumb. I went with Okna. Total cost was $7050; the final price Ace came down just a bit to $6750. From order to installation was what they said it would be, 8 weeks; this was because of the backlog due to COVID delays on this entire industry, every dealer said the same thing.
Okna 500 is a higher end medium quality window. I got estimates from Home Depot and Lowes, and Okna 500, beats anything from these dealers at a comparable price. The price was in line or lower than other windows of a comparable quality.
Installation was completed in one day along with some extra aluminum trim-siding work that I asked them to do last minute. The quality of the windows is excellent, a good value for the money. Okna 500 is recommended online everywhere. You can see the technical ratings in one of the photos here.
We dealt with Nick at Ace and he was very knowledgeable and helped fill in the gaps where my understanding of installation was lacking. It wasn't the cheapest estimate, the least expensive quote we got for entry level windows was $4995. I wanted a better window and felt that Ace had a good grasp on quality installation from our conversations.
We are very happy with the final results, I did my own interior painting; everything exterior was 100% completed by the contractor. Trim work was good quality, though the trim was not wood but a composite. The small crew of 3 replaced all the trim and installed it accurately and tightly.
In the end there were 3 minor installation and quality issues, 2 of which were with the soft composite material of the optional extensions that make up the casing around the window. But there were no quality issues with the windows or the window installation itself. The minor issues mentioned here are easily resolved and Ace promised to take care of it. This is normal and understandable, not looking for perfection with a reasonably priced window. The reason for one of the imperfections is related to my commandeering one of the workers for unplanned work for half a day, and so over-extending the crew. But mentioning it to provide an honest and thorough review.
The windows were properly shimmed and the gap between the window and frame was carefully filled with foam insulation. We had pulled back all the furniture, removed curtains, shades and hardware before the crew arrived.
The online research I did was worth the effort; additionally, I got about 7 estimates including the two mentioned already. It was a gradual learning process as I got estimates, spoke with various dealers, and read reviews online.
Slocumb windows from Royal Prime in Kenilworth has a similar good quality window at a reasonable price, but it wasn't available in regular white, only cream, which our HOA wouldn't allow. I felt fairly confident with the installation from this company but never got down to details with them so can't say for sure.
Ramapo Property Group had a decent entry level Sunrise window at a bargain price but I wanted higher quality. NJ Window & Siding had a Soft-Lite window comparable in quality to the Okna, but it was a little more expensive, and the salesman wasn't quite as sure of how to maneuver the installation here, as explained below. There was one other Okna dealer in N. Jersey I was considering, but felt more confident with Ace, and so spent a couple of hundred extra.
The installation was tricky because these are a series of townhouses and strict conformity rules for the exterior. I didn't want to lose glass area with these large size windows, as it is part of the beauty of this condo, the amount of light it gets daily, so installation required technical knowhow to satisfy my wishes as well as the HOA requirements. Ace had the knowledge of installation details to satisfy those specific requirements.
In conclusion I would recommend Okna 500 windows and Ace Home Improvements for installation. Don't go into anything head over heels, read the fine print, ask questions.
