“I would like to thank the three officers from the Berkeley Township NJ Police Department that responded to a call last night on Pelican Island. A young lady was extremely troubled and in a very dark place. The situation was very fragile. These three officers spent four and a half years patiently speaking with her and assuring her of her safety and their willingness to help her. I'm sure they were tired. I know I was exhausted. They never let the situation escalate and the episode ended successfully. She will be helped now and no harm came to anyone, including her very large dog. I was proud to be able to witness so closely these officers doing what they do best, protect and serve. During the course of the evening, while we all worked to bring positive closure, I never learned the officers lasts names. So I say with the utmost respect, Jason, Johnny and Kyle, thank you for what you do.”
