(November 10, 2018, 8:10 pm)Rutt's Hut is the absolute best greasy spoon in all of NJ. My family has been coming here weekly for 4 generations. I've had everything on the menu a million times over. I can't wait to bring my kids here in the next year or so when they're old enough to eat real solid foods. I grew up and live right across the river from Rutt's, seeing the glow of their original neon sign every night. There are many imitators but Rutt's is the original. Not to mention winner of Best Hot Dog in America multiple times. It's straight up old fashioned comfort / truck stop food at its finest. Opened in 1928, it is a New Jersey institution, bursting with the essence of local history, and is a favorite of locals and visitors alike. There's a standing room only counter on one side, and a full service sit down family restaurant on the other, with a full bar. It's CASH ONLY, so hit the ATM before you drop in. The staff is always friendly and the waitresses are always a delight.

(October 14, 2018, 11:26 pm)I love the hot dogs. A few wellers with cooked onions and relish are a fantastic meal. But they've got a LOT more on the menu than just deep fried hot dogs (roast duckling with orange sauce anyone?), and there's a full sit-down bar area on the other side.
(October 1, 2018, 6:57 pm)This is one of the best places to get a deep-fried hot dog and fall in love with it. I personally like the dogs with cheese. I also commit a taboo and apply chili to the dogs. But I feel it is a worthy offense. You must the chili separately (all meat is my suggestion) as they will not tarnish their own dog with said chili. Try it with and without. All in all a fantastic place with something for everyone.
