Maybe it's because I'm a former U.S. Marine, but I'm a bit picky about who I work for. I wouldn't work for a company without integrity. What I found to be particularly good indicator of integrity (regardless of company type) is how they handle honest mistakes that would cost the company a non-trivial amount of time/money -- do they do the right thing or do they try to cover it up instead? While he was doing the inspection, I told him about an ant problem I was having. He could have easily charged me and fixed the problem, but he told me how to easily do it myself.
