“I wish to publicly thank the Watchung police officer who helped me in my time of need. Being a dinosaur in this modern age of the so-called new technology and not being familiar with the gps on my cell phone, I was in plain words lost. This officer in the true since of, "to protect and serve," not only directed me to my destination, this officer programed my cell phone!! To me this was a fine example of someone going beyond the scope of duty. This fine officer was on duty at an intersection, construction site off rt 22 west at approximately 10:15 am on 05/26/2022. I truly regret not getting this officer's name or badge number, by not doing so I truly regret having to add this fine officer to the growing list of unrecognized police officers who take the extra step to serve and protect us. “I had to call for a non-emergent issue, but nonethless still important. The two officers responded and were professional, squared away and polite. You could tell in dealing with the task at hand that these officers were compassionate and empathetic. I am unsure if Hillsborough trains their police in mental health first aid, but these guys knew what they were doing and as a licensed counselor, I was beyond impressed! Thank you for your help today.”

“I have been trying to locate records through this department for the last two days. I have been bounced around from department to department and haven't been sure who I'm talking to is the correct person. I've asked for information regarding time frame, fees, how they would be sent (fed ex, USPS, email, fax). I asked for information and was given none. The matter is time sensitive, so even a guess at time frame would've been helpful, along with how this would be sent, as I stated above. I spoke with an officer who, when my frustration came threw with the situation said " I wouldn't raise your voice at me, I'd start right there, don't do that"". My question is: what is going to happen I'm frustrated, my voice raised? Is this going to go slower because of that? I am BSN/RN x 10 years and on to a Nurse Practictioner shortly. I am well educated and do quite a bit of educating with my patients. I would not handle any situation the way this has been handled. A small bit of information goes a long way and would avoid further phone calls from folks like myself. I told the officer this and she stated "You want a time frame, how about a week?. This was stated after she told my issue was through the courts and she had no idea how they handled things. However, she was quick to give me a week time frame. This is not ok and people should not be treated this way.”

My car broke down as I was driving along Washington Valley Road, and I was in one of those area that my phone had no service. As I was standing there waving for help. Officer Loften was on his daily patrol. He stoped, and he coordinated the toll service and stayed with me till they arrived.
