“WOW!!!! New practitioner, WOW!!! I have been going to Ortiz Mountain Health Center for 18 years. It has always been my first choice. I travel from Santa Fe now for appointments because it is worth it. I have always liked my practitioner (who has recently retired) and now am totally blown away with the new one, Sonia Armijo. If I could give her ten stars I would! Right out of the gate Sonia was extremely personable and friendly. She radiates caring and offered to do all of the exams, blood work etc. that I needed so that I wouldn't have to return for separate visits. She is SO knowledgeable about alternative as well as conventional medicine and, I would say, leans toward a holistic approach which I love. She is so enthusiastic and energetic. I can get a hit of happiness just being around her. She obviously loves her work and is dedicated to giving her best to her patients. We are so lucky to have her. Love Sonia, love Ortiz Mountain Health Center. Feeling like one lucky pup.”

“Went for a friend's wedding. Nice setting, if a little on the rustic side. You could easily walk the town in a few hours and then go to Madrid for lunch and window shopping. It does get warm here in the summer and it can be buggy, so be prepared. I'm betting it's nice and dark at night, so I'm contemplating going in September when it starts to cool down. Check out their website and make your call.”

“Lovely shop! What a great find in Gypsy Plaza! Owner is very kind and helpful! One-of-a-kind local art, jewelry, spiritual tokens and clothing. We bought bamboo straws and a Nepali wool poncho (things we haven't seen anywhere else yet). Worth the trip!”

“Visited Saturday around noon. Hours were wrong on Google maps. Attached picture showing current Sat/Sun hours. Lady there was very nice and answered all our questions. There is a small museum (one room) with some history info panels, as well as some ore samples. Probably 10-15 minutes to see everything. Public restrooms and water fountain. Free entrance. Free maps of the park, which was really helpful. If you are hiking on some of the back trails where the mines are, you will 100% want a map so you can get around without getting lost. I was very glad it was open. My kids liked the small exhibit. As this center is on the way to the park and it is probably a 30 second detour, I would absolutely recommend taking a quick stop here.”

“Nice trading post, tourist souvenirs & unique turquoise museum. Lots of handmade, locally sourced turquoise from the local “little Blue Bell mine”. Located in the Cerillos Mining District, 25 miles south of Santa Fe, NM. Follow the signs in the small village once you turn off the main highway. Quirky & unique items with nicely made local turquoise jewelry.”

“Stumbled across this amazing place while road tripping. Didn't get to look inside cause it was after operating hours, but the owner working hard to rebuild one of his favorite and oldest sculptures. Was a great pleasure to have a conversation with an inspiring person. Every piece he makes is full of his unique energy. Wish i had more time but def. plan on visiting again if ever in the area. Great memories for a guy from NC on the open road, gotta love america!”

“Amazing artist and a great studio to visit. I highly recommend anyone in the area to make a trip to this gallery. It’s in the historic town of Cerrillos. The paintings he has for sale are beautifully thought out and mastered. The artist also has prints and other artwork for sale. I was lucky to acquire the painting I fell in love with from Trent Edwards. It looks exquisite in my home.”

“Climbed Grand Central Mountain from Cortez Mine trail head. Parking there is limited to 2-3 cars. We found a trail that avoid the nearby private property. It took us maybe 1.5 miles to the base of peak. It was a tough scramble from there. We don't think there are any trails to the peak. Be aware, the train is very steep and rocky. It was well worth the climb (~1500 feet). Unbelievable views up there.”

“We came upon this small gallery in Los Cerrilos quite by accident and were so glad we did! The entrance door opens into a small, light gallery with a collection of stunning paintings on view. Visit with the artist to learn what inspires his work, and take time also to enjoy the really lovely patio garden that grows beyond the gallery. A must-see stop on the Turquoise Trail!”

“Beautiful, well trained Tennessee Walkers and Missouri Fox Trotters smartly matched to a rider's abilities; a rocky, winding, sometimes steep trail up and down hills with dramatic views of the Galisteo Basin; horses sure-footed as mules--fun! My daughter and I had a wonderful time rocking away on well-broken- in (read, weathered) saddles and enjoyed the company of Brad, our wise (and wise crackin') trail boss.”
