“One of the most beautiful and well-kept cemeteries I've ever stepped foot in. A number of famous people rest here for eternity, including Miles Davis (who has the largest headstone I've ever seen), Dorothy Parker, Herman Melville, Irving Berlin, and Bat Masterson. We walked through and found everyone we wanted to see to pay our respects. People do need to slow down driving through here as it is a place of reverence. We literally saw a car going too fast, hit either a pylon or gravestone, back out quickly, and kept driving. Be sensible! These are peoples' loved ones!”

“In the past 10 years John J Fox and Sons have provided funerals for several of our family members and we could not be happier with the level of service and professionalism they provided. I see a couple of negative reviews on here saying that the staff wasn’t professional or no one picked up the phone, other nonsense and I have to say this was NOT my experience at all and we’ve been going to the funeral home for years with the same funeral director (Tom Roemmelt). The staff is extremely accommodating. For our most recent funeral, our beloved Auntie Ro loved playing the lottery. And we mentioned we wanted to have some sort of floral arrangement that would somehow honor that. Tom says “let me see what I can do.” He calls up the florist, explains to them the situation, and a few seconds later he hangs up and looks at me and my wife and says “It’s done.” And sure enough, the arrangement came out BEAUTIFULLY, and everyone who came to the service loved it. And it provided quite a few smiles on such a dark and sad day. Also our beloved Auntie Ro was 95, and Janitza Soto made her look absolutely wonderful. They dyed her hair *exactly* the way she liked it and did her makeup flawlessly. Rose would have loved it. They took every single instruction and request we gave them and executed it perfectly right down to the pink rosary we gave them to have Auntie Ro was holding in her hands. They never once rushed us. Or pressured us. And they were always at all times professional, courteous and respectful. Tom even gave me his personal cell number to contact him directly no matter what time of day or night. To which, last minute things came up and I had to text him at midnight at he responded IMMEDIATELY. Cannot say enough nice things about this funeral home and staff. Highly recommend working with them. AAAAAAAA+++++++”

“We just buried our beloved brother yesterday June 15th, 2918. I must testify that Mrs. Gloria whom is the owner of the funeral home was beyond professional. She took us under her wings and guided us through this difficult moment. The service given was beyond our expectations. Her compassion and humanity was greatly appreciated. Through this review I want to thank her staff as well. The person that drove the funeral car was an angel. He helped us through all steps until my brother was buried. He also said a beautiful prayer before he walked out as a sign of dignity to inform that it was time for us to leave. A difficult moment for all of us. Without his support we wouldn't know what to do. I highly recommend this funeral home because it's not a business but a family commitment given to the community when respect and compassionate care is mostly needed. Don't resist in calling Mrs.Gloria. She will be there for you like a loving family member will be there for you to assure that you are well when you mostly need loving attention.”

“These people are exceptional. You could not ask for a more professional, appropriate, compassionate person helping you at a difficult time than George Farr. Mr Farr does not regard his family business as a profit center meant to extract maximum profit from families in grief... just the opposite. This is a calling for him and being there for families in their time of need is what he is all about. They are also extremely fair with their pricing, much more so than the corporate chains that now control the funeral industry. I cannot recommend them highly enough.”
