“This is a great little park to take kids after dinner in the area. The ground is padded and there are a ton of things for them to climb on. The swings for toddlers was cool too”

“Extensive biking and hiking trails. Orchard Beach is probably NYC's least appreciated public beach. It boasts a huge, clipper-ship themed playground. Less crowded, family-friendly getaway every season. The usual tennis and basketball courts. However, the nearby driving range, golf course, horse riding opportunities, AND City Island help make this place extraordinary. The largest park in NYC doesn't fall short of expectations.”

“One of the few green spaces in the area where you can come and enjoy your surroundings. It's shaped in a big loop for those who want to get in some exercise it's almost like be on a trail/hike. The seated areas are well shaded, and there's a path that leads you to the YMCA, and what what use to be Castle Hill Park.”

“Lovely breeze by the water. Nice area for families to enjoy. Needs more seating and table areas. Bring your own chairs, the few benches are not enough. Omg now there is a ferry that leaves this area making three stops in NYC.”

“There are 2 lots one with obstacles which dogs love. My little man had fun. There were other dog, they were big. My dog interacted with them well. The second lot is empty but need to be more taken care of. The grass is hi and there was a small hole by the bench. Sometimes some dog's wont interact well with others and it will be good to take the dog to the other lot. But its a good place.”

“Attended a cookout here yesterday. There’s free parking across from the park adjacent to the highway. There are only about three trees in the lot and on hot days you’ll definitely want to park in that shade. This park is right on the water and offers a few fields for soccer, football or softball along with a couple of bike paths. There are lots of trees for shade and being by the water makes for slightly cooler temps on hot days. The grass was mowed and well kept. There is an abundance of space for gatherings and events and there was park staff on hand (rare for any park) to keep the bathrooms stocked with supplies for the crowds. Speaking of bathrooms, they are housed in a modern building with wide open stair access on one side and handicap access on the other. The wide stairs offer views to the water and any event in that area. The only downside is there are no playgrounds or basketball courts, so when bringing kids make sure you have plenty to keep them occupied.”
