I especially recommend her for any trauma counseling. She’s extremely knowledgeable when it comes to different types of trauma work and how trauma affects different parts of the mind/body. She always takes the time to thoroughly explain her reasoning for suggesting different ideas and why she thinks some things will/won’t be effective. She’s also really good at giving outside sources (articles, comics, etc.) that help explain the things that may be happening to you. Just the other day, Laura took the time to explain every single part of an “Authorization for Release of Information” form before I signed anything, just to make sure that I understood what I was signing and how it affected me. She always communicates with you, sends reminders for appointments, is really good when it comes to scheduling, and is always willing to listen to your thoughts/opinions when it comes to your counseling.
