“Camping in a different sort of style! Park your car in the parking lot and walk your supplies a short way into the camp area. Definitely different, but kind of cool! Bathroom trailer and shower trailer were very clean!”

“The old carriage drive up to the top has a gentle rise good for strollers or wheelchairs. A wooded hill that takes you away from the sounds of the city. Views better in winter when the leaves are off the trees. Spectacular fall color in November.”

“This place is very nice for a stop during a walk or bike ride around the neighborhood. The views of the Manhattan skyline are phenomenal. They have a NY ferry station that takes you to other stops in Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens. The pier itself is a bit dirty but that shouldn't deter you from visiting it.”

“If you believe in the phrase "one man's trash is another man's treasure," then this beach is a treasure chest waiting to be opened. Here you can find fully intact glass bottles and jars so old that the companies that made them went out of business many decades ago. One of my more notable finds was a glass Clorox bottle. Clorox hasn't used glass bottles since 1962. Now as of writing this in 2018 there's still a lot to find at this beach. But I wouldn't be surprised if a wave of people comes to "reclaim" much of the old stuff soon, eventually leaving just scraps. So I'd recommend going sooner rather than later!”

“A family place for the locals of Brooklyn, New York. No matter what time of year(dress appropriately the winds can hurt in the winter). Lovers, new families, big families, friends, artist, Mr. Softy. A great place to sit, rest, feel the breeze on a hot summer evening, hear the laughter of children running by, watch the fishermen, watch day turn to night, being lulled by the rush hour traffic, work out, walk, pray, listen, cry, take photographs of passers by. This is a great place no matter your reason for coming, a walk around the park, stopping to enjoy the flowers in bloom, stopping on the corner to purchase fresh sun flowers, roses--red, yellow, white, orange, or driving over to Caesar's Bay for a slice of hot pie, picking up some new sports gear from Modell's, stopping by Kohl's for a pair of jeans, or just jumping off the Shore Rd on your way to the Belt Parkway to grab a burger from Wendy's; BJ's Park and Rest Area has something for anyone.”

“Nice, peaceful park to walk through. Remnants of corroded and oxidized marine vessels litter the shallows of the surrounding waters and provide visual interest in several spots throughout the park. Large grassy fields are available for all kinds of sports activities, such as soccer or football. Convenient and free parking lot available to visitors.”

“We camped here in our 40' 5th wheel. We are 13' 6" in height. We came in from Connecticut on I-95, took I-678 across Whitestone Bridge and then got on I-495 and then followed the directions from the reservation.gov website from there. We got here with no problems and no height clearance issues. If you arrive after hours, be sure to call the check in number that they give you on the email, or you will be woken up at midnight by a park ranger! The water filling station has 6 filling ports, only one had an adapter that allows hose hook-up. You may want to have a male to male adapter with you in case the one here is not available or no longer here. The dump station is locked, so you will need to coordinate with the ranger to dump. We enjoyed 4 nights here while visiting NYC. The bus stop is right at the entrance to the park and there is a parking lot right there to park. The bus will take you a block from the subway station that will take you directly into Manhatten. The people at the subway station were very helpful in getting us set up with our subway tickets. One thing to note is you will have to pay the first bus fare with change since you will have not purchased a metro card yet. We were not prepared for this, but the bus driver let us ride anyway. We would stay here again if visiting NYC in a camper! I gave 4 stars simply because there are no hook-ups.”

“Safe, attentive coaches and staff for all the kids. We joined our son 10 and daughter 7 two years ago and it helps keep them active. Highly recommended for soccer first time learners. Coaches are volunteers and very well coached themselves. Family oriented and with a small friendly community attitude towards the parents and players. BBYO is the place to bring your kids.”
