“An incredible experience and incredible guidance. I didn't know who Theo Nazz was before I stepped into my first class. I work at a school nearby his forge and happened passed as the forge was being built in Industry City. I added Nazz Forge on Instagram and months later my wife surprised me with lessons for my birthday. I'm almost done with my first chef's knife and it's coming out so much better than I thought it would. There is something to be said about the quality of a hand made knife. You get out what you put in. The satisfaction of making something, a real tool, out of steel with fire and hammers is impossible to describe. Each day the metal transforms into something completely new met with a new level of pride in the work and the process. The forge has a few great instructors but my classes have been with Theo. Theo's guidance is truly amazing and valuable. As a teacher, I am impressed with his instincts. He doesn't talk much about his Forged in Fire wins on The History Channel, but there is a moment when he stops making his own knife to help a struggling rival fix theirs. A great moment which is definitive proof that he was meant to pass on the craft to others. In the forge, he works alongside you so you have an accurate model of technique and more importantly safety. The classes are appropriate for anyone and incredibly fun. Bladesmithing is great for outdoorsy types but you can make so many other things besides swords and knives. I myself am not outdoorsy which is why I've elected to make a kitchen knife. Some of the other beginner options are bottle openers, herb choppers and utility knives. They also have couples classes. Learning to use workshop machinery which can help with other crafts or projects is a great bonus. I truly recommend these classes for anyone looking to branch out and learn a new skill. For those experience seekers out there, this is your next journey. Skip the escape room. My only warning is that the class is highly addictive and space is limited so book as soon as possible!”

“What a high-quality woodworking studio. I arrived with almost no experience, took several private lessons to get certified on the machines, and emerged a few weeks later with a certification, confidence in myself, and a new skill that gives me so much joy. I’ve now built a beautiful cutting board on my own, and am now planning my next projects. The machines are well maintained. The staff are friendly and place a high emphasis on safety. They provide all types of group classes which seem to be very popular. You can buy all types of lumber here, and they provide ear and eye protection. This is a great shop to learn woodworking, hone your skills, build a dream project of your own, and have fun. Highly recommend.”

“I was a student there in the late 1970's and it was a pretty good school. I don't know about now. I have heard that the school has changed and not necessarily for the better. Back then students weren't bringing weapons to school. I wonder if at least 1 of my old teachers are there? I'm doubtful but it would be nice if one was. Mr.Littman was the dean back then. Good man. I would like to visit some day to see the changes.”
