Schoharie Crossing -Yankee Hill Lock

First time in a long time I enjoyed it very much even just to walk to go where my mom and I used to go 😢

As othre reviewers have noted, a walk through time. Easy access via bicycle or car. There are also kayaks available for rental.

This is such a wonderful place. It's like taking a walk back in time. Love the photos and information about what it was used for and what it looked like back when it was new. Just an amazing walk and adventure through time and history.

Beautiful area, lots of great photo opportunities! Patches of wild thyme grow around, and ivy and moss partially cover the old lock and canal-way. There are many nice views of the river and the small islands nearby. They have built in BBQ units for picnicking (bring your own charcoal, food and told). Keep an eye on small children as there are no guardrails or safety elements. Overall, a wonderful experience!
