“Take a step back in time and visit this historic gem. There are so many reminders of the typical life "Back in the Day". Kudos to the folks that give their time and volunteer so that we can take a glimpse of how life was before "smart phones"🙄 It's fun, take an hour, you won't be disappointed !”

“A fantastic snap shot of the Guggenheim residence from the early 20th century. A must see to get a feel of what the gold coast was like way back when. Lots of works of art, sculptures, writings and books of study to satisfy any history buff. Also you get a feel of Guggenheim's interest and his pusuit of air and space travel. Charles Linberg stayed at the house and many other fascinating facts are explained by the tour guide.”

“Just wow! The museum is located on the grounds of the US Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York. The building is a beautiful converted older home. It isn’t the Smithsonian, for sure, but it probably doesn’t enjoy that kind of funding either. We enjoyed seeing the ship models and learning more about how important the Merchant Marine is in both peacetime and war. I really had no idea before visiting the museum how weapons, tanks, and such are transported overseas. I also learned about the midshipmen (students) from the Academy who lost their lives during WW II, and that they were the only students from any federal service academy to serve during that war. Highly recommend.”
