“In June 2022, I fell, fractured my right patella, had ORIF surgery complete with 2 screws and wire. I’m 69 years old and honestly thought my active life would disappear and I would not be able to walk or ride my bike again. Patella fractures are not an easy rehab, particularly at my age. I was fortunate enough to find Dr. Mel Fernandez who was referred to me from a Rehab facility in Queens, NY. I was looking for a physical therapist who would come to my home, as I was in an immobilizer and not able to drive to a rehab facility. Experienced and competent at-home physical therapists are not an easy find – and I wanted the same therapist who would get to know me and my injury – not have someone different each time. Dr. Fernandez is personable, competent, experienced and knowledgeable, who worked with me on my strengthening exercises. In a relatively short period of time, I am able to walk without a limp and confident enough to get back to Florida to avoid the NY winter. I couldn’t be more happy!
