“My review is not 5 star. Twice the police have helped me - once when I had trespassers on my property. At that time they suggested it was my fault because I didn't put up a fence. Tonight I was stopped for a headlight that was out . By how I was spoken with, I felt like a crimanal (my family has owned teh property for over 100 years). Yes, I was wrong. Headlight was indeed out. Yes, my inspection was 2 months late. And my driver's license shows my Queens address. However, there's no need to make me feel "wrong" and as if I'm a "criminal." Or is there/ Perhaps it's good to put me on the defensive. My opinion - I think the department needs work on how to deal with people. Most are scared and need help. Or they are not familiar with being "pulled over." I had no clue why lights were flashing behind me. It seems the police themselves are also scared and need help - thus making the residents in the position of having to assure them rather than vice versa. Where are our tax dollars going? Perhaps we should be paying ourselves in order to invest our time assuring the police not to be scared of us. Where were they when I was burglarized 3 years ago? How did they help me when traspassers continued to violate my property? What about them stopping people going 60 on our 40 mph road? Just sayin' HWT, Cold Spring Road, Syosset”
