“I grew up in washington heights and I would love to know what year this place opened? I would pass it a lot and never think to go inside. It's a good quality book store. There's a small section of manga. I love that my community has access to books!”

“Nice hidden gem of a comic book store in the heart of Manhattan. They have other collectibles like sports and gaming cards. Funky pops and games. I bought a Topps hobby box and pulled a gold wave refractor #23 of 50 Ohtani. I can't to visit again.”

“I haven’t been here since they were located on the corner. It still has that magical feel to it when you walk in. Great selection of random things and a great showcase of writers and books that are currently crossing over into different mediums. Picked up my son’s first comics with the help of a nice staffer. Come for the statues and books, stay for the T-shirts.”

“I really enjoy going to this black owned bookstore to buy books and their delectable oatmeal raisin cookies. I just wish they would have a label for the ingredients on the cookies, so that people who are allergic to certain food would know what's in the cookies.”

“If you can’t find a book in here that you want then I suggest you call Amazon but more than likely you’ll get it here. This is a beautiful place there’s two of them, two of the book stores. They both are in close proximity to Columbia university. And that says a lot about what they carry.”

“Lovely bookstore. It’s actually quite large inside with a separate downstairs that is mainly a children’s section. Loads of books of every shape and size and flavor. They also carry some great non-book items as well like, tote bags, magnets, stationery, wrapping paper, and Strand gear. We found some Harry Potter themed magnets and a great unlined journal. We would highly recommend this place!”

“Nice comic book shop convenient to transportation on the east side. There are two entrances to this upstairs shop; one is stairs and the other has an elevator. Staff here is super friendly and helpful. Large book selection; back issue selection is okay but no where near as extensive as the Astoria outlet.”

“Great selection of comics, graphic novels, Manga, toys, Funko Pops, statues and comic supplies. Prices can be a bit high, but it's an awesome place to get your weekly books. Helps if you have a pull list so you can just walk in and pick up your books. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. My go to place for my books.”

“Such a wonderful and well appointed book store specializing in original French books and French books translated to English. I love their Nouveautés selections, and the children’s selection, which is in a breathtakingly beautiful room upstairs. It has all the classic French books for kids and parents are looking for. The graphic novel selection is superb. Merci!”

“I received the book written by Patricia Masters regarding Mary Foster's Life, a native Hawaiian who advocated for the spread of Buddhism and restoring Buddhist historic sacred site of Maha Bodhi temple of India, Bodh Gaya with the Sri Lankan national hero advocate, Sri Angarika Dharmapala from the Buddhist Study Centre. Hoshina Seki is the lady president who is sincere and kind and I am so happy to have met her. With her compassionate words and encouragement I am so inspired to be a good person. I enjoyed reading the book about Mary Fosters and is nice to hear about the Hawaiian cultures and early history. Leaves of My Heart by Lady Kujo and I am going to get one of it when published and I am amazed by her wisdom and compassion including her contribution to her dedicated social work. I have read some extract of her essays and can't wait to read all of those essays. It is such a lovely way to learn Buddhism.”

“I happened in on my way past. It is packed with books and stones and crystals and such - but not in an JAM PACKED way - very organized and easy to access. For the area, the shop has a lot of wandering space. The staff was very pleasant and the atmosphere was welcoming and calm. The location on 14th street seems, frankly, odd, to me - not bad- just...odd. The prices were a little high - I bet they have pretty high rent, though.”
